Answer 1:

Yes! Burnt Toast is in a perfect location for dogs. We charge a supplement per dog and we welcome up to 3 well behaved dogs.

Answer 2:

Central heating is included using an an oil fired boiler. Heating is controlled by a timer and the heating is set to come on from 7am to 10am and from 7pm to 10pm. All of the radiators are thermostatically controlled. There are woodburners located in the kitchen and the lounge and are available for your use. Logs are not provided but can be purchased from most supermarkets and garage forecourts.

Answer 3:

Bedding, bed linen and towels are all included.

Answer 4:

There is a washing machine and a tumble dryer. There is also a clothes line and pegs outside for use should you prefer clothes to dry in the fresh air.

Answer 5:

There is a wet room with a shower, WC and sink downstairs. Upstairs is a bathroom with a bath (it's quite narrow), WC and sink.

Answer 6:

Our water supply is pumped from a natural spring and tastes delicious! However, water pressure from a natural supply can be variable so we have been advised that a dish washer may not be safe to have in the Cottage.

Answer 7:

Yes, we have free Wi-Fi for your use. Though the cottage is pretty remote our broadband signal is delivered by satellite with speeds of up to 50mbs.

Answer 8:

Whatever network your mobiles are on you will struggle to get a signal! However, if you set your phones to wi-fi calling you can make or recieve calls with ease.

Answer 9:

The Cottage has a modern fitted kitchen with crockery, pots and pans you'd normally have at home. There is a large free standing upright fridge freezer as well as an integral fridge. The oven and ceramic hob are both electric. The sink is a Belfast Sink and the draining board sits ontop of the wooden work surface. We also have a kettle, toaster and microwave for your use. Crockery and cutlery is set to cater for 5 people as that is our maximum occupancy. The kitchen has a pine dining table with chairs.

Answer 10:

Of course!

Answer 11:

We are located on the South West Coastal path and Lamorna Cove is a 10 minute walk down the footpath that runs outside the front gate. You can also walk across the fields to the front of the Cottage and you are by the sea within about 10 minutes. It's a way down so the walk back takes longer!

Answer 12:

There is literally nothing in the hamlet apart from the 5 houses. You have to go into Newlyn or Penzance for anything you need. They are about 3 or 4 miles away so definitely a car drive.

Answer 13:

Penzance is lucky to have a good variety of supermarkets and shops. There are Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Co-Op and Lidl. Aldi will be coming at some time in the future we have been told. There is also The Range nearby and in the High Street you will find your usual shops and banks.

Answer 14:

We have a collection once a week on a Thursday. There are two large bins - one for recycling and one for general waste. There is a box for glass and a dog waste bin. In the kitchen we have two bins – one for general waste and another for your recycling (but glass mustn’t go into this bin as it is collected separately) .

Answer 15:

Our changeover day is Friday and on arrival the Cottage will be cleaned, unlocked and ready for you from 4.00pm. On the day of your departure you must check out by 10am to allow our cleaners sufficient time to prepare the Cottage for the next guests.

Answer 16:

Kemyel Wartha is a remote Hamlet consisting of about 5 properties. Originally back in the 1800's the Hamlet comprised of 2 farms and their outbuildings. The Hamlet is approched by an unmade single track of about 1 mile long. The track is narrow, bendy and pot-holed so you will need to drive slowly down the track to avoid damage to your vehicle. Standard cars can manage the track quite happily though we suggest you don't bring your Lamborghini!

Answer 17:

The famous Lamorna Wink pub is a 15 minute walk away in Mousehole. With Burnt Toast Cottage on your right, follow the path to the stile and cross the field diagonally. Over the stile and follow the path down to Lamorna Cove.
